Euxton Girls open age entertained league leaders Wigan Athletic. For the opening 30 minutes the visitors bombarded Euxton and should have been 5 or 6 goals up but for a spirited defence by Euxton . Hannah excelling in goal. Euxton began to fight back but Wigan scored just before half-time.

Wigan began the second half with another 15 minutes of pressure. Euxton once again fought back and were on top for the next 15 minutes and then against the run of play Wigan went two up on 75 minutes. Euxton were down to 10 players for the last ten minutes when a player was red carded. The remaining ten players managed to repel a determined Wigan onslaught for the last ten minutes.

Venue Rochdale

The Open Age team traveled to Play Rochdale Ladies from a division above in a cup game. Euxton took the lead after 10 mins with a Lydia Southern Penalty. Rochdale equalized after 12 mins. The game was even until Rochdale took the lead after 65 mins and scored a third on 89 mins. Euxton played well throughout against a team from a higher division.

Euxton traveled to play Accrington Stanley , Accrington dominated the first 30 minutes and scored on 5 mins and 15 mins . Catherine Caudwell pulled a goal back on 35 mins for Euxton . Euxton dominated the 2nd half but could not put the ball in the net. Accrington went 3- 1 up with a goal on 75 minutes, Euxton struck back to 3-2 on 76 mins.and continued to play well only to run out 3-2 losers after a good effort in pressuring the Accrington goal.

Euxton created several early chances within a couple of minutes from KO.
Both teams then fought hard over control and euxton came out with 2 goals from Steph Hoghton in the 1st half.
Euxton started the 2nd half the better of both teams and with 2 substitutions Euxton scored 2 mores goals, Jess smith ran onto a loose ball beat several players and calmly scored with a well placed shot past the keeper.
!5 minutes before the final whistle Lois Edgar slotted the ball into the net after a goal mouth scramble.
Euxton continued to press for more goals but ran out comfortable winners in the end....
